Bright coloured clothes, piquant flavours, upbeat music and a little salsa – put them together and we have the HPCA Social with a Latino Twist Party!  The March 25th event is being hosted in Oakville by Joanna Turlej and she has some fun and surprising things in store for us.  To help you with your decision on what to bring to this potluck, here are a few ideas:

Finger food ideas:
1. 3-layer salsa dip and chips
2. Sweet potato croquets
3. Pork Kebobs
4. Shrimp and potato fritters
5. Surollitos - cheese corn sticks
6. Tostones - plantains with garlic dip
7. Pumpkin fritters
8. Guacamole with roasted chilli, cumin and Feta
9. Chicken Quesadillas
10. Vegetable tacos
Bring an amount equal to what you would eat during the course of the evening.

Desserts: they don't have to be Latino, but bonus to those that bring Latino style, like apple esplanada, or Frutas Fresca Con Salsa De
Canela Y Vanilla (fresh fruit with cinnamon-vanilla sauce).

Everyone is welcome to bring their own choices or if you’d rather not bring food, you can bring a bottle of wine.  If you don’t feel like bringing anything, please pay $15/person at the door and we will buy a dish on your behalf. Whatever your choice, Joanna will need your RSVP confirmation by March 19, 2010 to make final preparations. Guests are welcome, but capacity is 25 so first come, first served. In keeping with the theme you might want to wear something from Latin America. Improvise if you don't have anything - flowers, poncho, colourful cloth etc. Sign up today for this fun-filled evening!
